Invite to Our Coronation Celebration
Dearest Members of the Ton,
It is said that all the world’s a stage. For one is constantly on display and playing. a part. Some may find this daunting, but I for one find there is nothing more comforting or entertaining than a diary filled with the celebrations, customs and costumes of The Season.
Whether it is admiring the artwork at The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition or smelling the roses at The Chelsea Flower Show, a day of racing at Royal Ascot or rowing at Henley, English elegance is the order of the day. But this season's crowning glory is a once in a lifetime affair not to be missed!!
After 74 years as an understudy, Prince Charles will assume the leading role of King Charles III. While no play is complete without a soupcon of scandal, I do hope his progeny can put aside their differences for this momentous occasion. Before you judge this cast of characters too harshly - first try running a family business let alone an empire!
This author will be happily ensconced at Westminster Abbey with a front row view of the drama and diamonds. Fear not dear readers, for I have secured you the most coveted invite on this side of the pond. The next best seat in the house will be the streaming of the day’s events in London at the Coronation Celebration hosted by The Bee’s Knees. Tea and refreshments will be on offer and for those craving proper British fare, Thwaites Pie Truck will make a cameo appearance beginning at 11am. Do dress the part in your best ensemble and regal regalia, for my spies shall be watching. And if you don’t have a coronet or family tiara of your own, children (and adults) can decorate crowns at the party.
In honor of this grand affair, I have lent my discerning eye to the curation of the Lady Middlesex Coronation Hamper. A keepsake for the ages filled to the brim with glamour and good taste, including my favourite tea, treats and surprises. With all things royal in vogue this spring this hamper is sure to sell out, so reserve yours in advance!
Mine is not the only basket worthy of mention. With Easter on the horizon you would be wise to visit the shoppe now to add some British charm to your festivities. For no one does twee like we. Nothing could be sweeter or more tempting than an imported chocolate egg - except for a bejeweled one. Your tablescapes will overflow with the allure of artisan wares. After all there is no better time to put on a show with a feast fit for a king!
Till we meet again, enjoy all the gaiety and galas the season has to offer. Be the leading lady or gentleman of your story, or in my case the star sovereign…
Remember, life is not a dress rehearsal!
